Poetry - An Early Medium
The poetic preludes of my music
From my teenage years, I had the pleasure to do poetry readings for the public throughout Long Island as part of the Live Poets Society, a group of vibrant men and women who shared a passion for reading and writing poetry.
Living out on Long Island, the beautiful dew drops on the blades of grass along the waters of the Long Island shore offered me endless inspiration. I saw many parallels in nature and in human nature. For many years, I wrote poetry and in some of my verse, I found fodder for my songs later to be written in New York City, songs like "Wander."
Inspired by a book of poems and lyrics by Suzanne Vega years back, I made it my own project to collect my selected poems and song lyrics into a book titled Heart's Eye - Selected Poems and Lyrics.
I am very grateful for the interest that western Massachusetts took in my book which permitted me to launch a performing book tour at many libraries in this region. These performances consisted of poetry readings and performances of my songs published in Heart's Eye.

Everywhere
I divide
I branch
Out
I am reaching
so
high
my craggy fingers bearing fruit
at their tips
All shoots out from my brown body -
One mad, certain soul
reaching out
into the uncertainty.

Poetry on Tour
